Notification on Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease

With the increased exposure to the Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease this season, ACIS encourages parents to be aware of the signs and symptoms of this disease and to take appropriate actions.

In the event that a situation of spreading is identified within our school, we are committed to strictly adhering to the established school policies and procedures.

  1. If there are 3 or more cases in the same classroom, the classroom will be closed for 3 days.

  2. If the disease occurs in multiple classrooms, the affected grade levels will be closed to prevent further spread for a period of 5 days.

  3. Clean the premises to eliminate disease transmission areas, including restrooms, swimming pools, kitchens, and the cafeteria, using detergent or soap followed by chlorine-based bleach for approximately 10 minutes. Then rinse/wipe/soak with clean water to prevent chemical residue.

  4. Clean children's toys and equipment by scrubbing and then sun-drying them.

  5. Cease the use of air conditioning and open curtains to allow ample sunlight to enter.

Please note that these instructions for managing and preventing the spread of diseases or infections have been issued from within the Thai Department of Disease Control.

Sincerely,

School Director and School Nurse Office
