Notification on Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Disease

With the increased exposure to the RSV disease this season, the RSV virus can cause severe respiratory infections in young children. ACIS encourages parents to be aware of the signs and symptoms of this disease and to take appropriate actions.

  • Common cold feeling

  • Running nose

  • Sore throat

  • Mild headache

  • Cough

  • Fever

  • A general ill feeling in your child.

It takes 2 to 8 days from when the child is exposed until symptoms develop. If your child shows the above symptoms, please bring the child to the hospital for treatment. The child must not attend school for 7 days

if a diagnosis of RSV is confirmed. The child can safely return to school with a medical letter stating his/her recovery condition.
